The Hague has struggled for years for what to do with the property on the former Poeldijkstraat, the notorious red light district in The Hague on the edge of the Schilderswijk. The Poeldijkstraat itself no longer exists. The houses were demolished, and neat new residential streets were erected in its place bearing a new name: the Wolterbeekstraat. All that remains of the Poeldijkstraat is a boarded up building at the corner of Hoefkade.
Project idea:
A glimpse of the inside. Pictures represent the loaded history of the neighborhood, while also emphasizing the beauty of the building once the boards are removed.
