Un-Convention Holland 2010

Rocket Garage founder Lance LaBreche has been invited to speak on a panel at this years "Un-Convention" in Groningen, Netherlands...just days before the official launch party for Rocket Garage Amsterdam! He will join others on a panel titled, "Music for brands and companies - selling your soul?", which should be a frank discussion on...How making music for a paying customer can help your career, or help you establish a continuous flow of income without selling out. Panellists talk about their experience and give you their do’s and don’ts.

So, what is Un-Convention, you ask?

Now Representing Spawn

We're psyched to be be representing Spawn. He's been around for a bit, and is probably best known for his appearance in a CK1 ad. But, we also like the fact that he's worked with some of our favorites--Fabion Baron, Richard Burbridge, Ruven Afanador, etc. Most of all, we just think he fits. Welcome aboard.

This Should Blow Your Mind, Earthling

We wonder who will be the first photographer to do a fashion story aboard Virgin Galactic...Testino? Meisel? We vote for Nick Knight with Alexander McQueen styling!

And Then, There Is This

Authenticity, Anyone?

When it comes to digital, there is an obvious distinction between 'cleaning-up' a photograph, and all out modification. If the future of fashion editorial is going to be left in the hands of digital tech's...we're in big trouble. What is the point of actually using human models? Editorial worth looking at is created through great clothing being styled by knowledgeable editors and photographed by talented photographers on models who can dramatically convey the attainable attributes of style and beauty to a broad range of consumers. Somewhere along the line, it seems, many print magazines have gotten lazy and the plot has been lost.

If you ask any recording engineer worth their weight, they will tell you that no matter how many times they mix and master a bad album, in the end it's just going to be a bad album that's been mixed and mastered well. Clearly, media of all varieties need to give more consideration to pre-production, so the post-production doesn't have to be as intensive.
